DANGER – Illegal cosmetic contact lenses can cause blindness
The South Carolina Department of Consumer Affairs warns that illegally obtained cosmetic contact lenses can lead to disease, damage to the eye, and even blindness. Consumers should never purchase cosmetic contact lenses without a prescription from a licensed eye care professional. If you suspect a business of illegally selling cosmetic contact lenses please contact the Department at 1-800-922-1594.
