what happens if i wear circle lenses for more than 6 hours?
I Was just wondering what are the effects if i wear circle contact lenses for more than 6 hours a day.
Wearing circle lenses more than 6 hours a day can make your eyesight get very bad, and in the long run cause you to go blind. What happens is because circle lenses are so big in diameter, your eyes are not able to breathe and get oxygen. The less and less oxygen your eyes get, the worse your eyesight becomes. I try to wear mine less than 6 hours, but sometimes I wear them longer. Then again I dont wear them everyday either.

Do you wear everyday regular contacts and are thinking of switching?
If so… Your eyes are probably already used to this and have grown to be more oxygen efficient at night when they are not on. Mine are. I wear my regular soft contacts everyday for 16 hours. By this point, getting circle lenses is not that big of a deal as long as you dont wear it everyday for the max (usually 8 hours, not 6). I wear my circle lenses to school and work and then take them out and wear glasses when I get back. Also, don’t wear them on the weekends, just regular contacts or nothing then.
And if not… Start by wearing them for a very little period of time on the first day. We’re talking "eat dinner" long. Do it again the next time you wear but double the time (EX: 30 minutes to 1 hour) and then add it again the next time (EX: 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes). All the way up to the max of 8 hours not everyday. It’s OK to wear every other day or so for a max of eight hours until you’re comfortable.
And you know what… If this doesn’t apply to you and you want to wear them everyday… Scratch all that above, someone else can have the info.
Wear it for more than six hours a day allows heavy protein buildup on the contacts. But if you wanna wear them for more than 6 EVERYDAY (Like 10-14)… You’ll most likely have red, dry, over-blinking, un-focused, strained, suffocating, and infected eyes. Get the best contacts solution in the freakin’ world and use protein buildup remover a lot. There is always gas-permeable lenses. Those you can wear for longer and there may be some large-type of colored ones. I don’t know. My doctor won’t prescribe them because my eyes don’t HAVE to have extreme breathability with clear vision.
