I want to change my eye color to grey/gray since i realized I would look hot in them. But I have 20/20 vision so I dont need them. I just want to change my eye color. Dont tell me to be proud of what Im born with cuz I am proud. I just thought it would be awesome. So can you get contacts that are not medicated so you see things better cuz I dont need to.
And another question, how do you spell grey/gray?
i dont really know if i have an eye doctor lol.
I feel so stupid for not knowing since I take Art Studio in school.
Hello……I dont even know if I have one…..I saw one once but i dont know if he is my eye doctor cuz I only saw him once…….and i doubt my mom would take me just to get another eye color.
why in the world would i go all the way to my doctor? And I wont be like hey mom, we need to go to the doctor cuz I want to get contacts.
Elizabeth….no im scared….i’ll try to see the eye doctor.
It is ILLEGAL in the US to sell contacts without an Rx, this is for your safety since a) not every one in the world can safely wear contacts, b) you MUST be fitted for them, wearing the wrong size can screw up your eyes, c) you need to be taught how to properly care for them, how to put them in and out (harder than it sounds) and what to watch out for, d) you need to be monitored every once in a while to make sure they aren’t damaging you (which is why the Rx’s expire after a year).

just curious, I see a lot of fashion stores selling "generic" color contacts(no prescription/magnification whatever) is it bad for your eyes to wear these color contacts? i know everyone’s eye shape is different so just curious how would that work?
nope they don’t charge a "fitting fee" they’re in a stand and they come in little boxes lol… i’ve had my eyes fitted for color contacts before so that’s why i was suspicious of getting color contacts without getting fitted for them.

read this from consumer reports. If they are in the US, what they are doing is illegal.

i want green contacts but i dont want to pay to much money or visit a eye doctor or anything like that.
i also want them to look natural.
Whether you need correction or not, you still have to see an eye doctor for contact lenses. That is the law. They are not a one size fits all, sorry. A doctor must check the overall health of your eyes and make sure the lenses are fitting properly. You can cause a lot of damage to your eyes and this is why they are not "over the counter". Once the eye doctor approves the fit, he will write out a prescription which you can use to purchase them. Most contact lens Rx’s are valid for one year, then you will need to see your eye doctor again for a new exam. Take care

Over 33 million Americans safely wear contact lenses, but health professionals warn of the growing use of cosmetic contact lenses especially among young people. Many of these lenses are purchased illegally from street vendors and flee-markets without a prescription and without an eye exam.

Where do you think I could get colored contacts without prescription? Hopefully not too expensive…
It’s a federal law that you cannot purchase (or sell for that matter) contact lenses without a prescription. You must be fitted first by an eye doctor because, even though you don’t need correction, they are still considered a medical device. I don’t know why anyone would tell you to purchase them at a swap meet or flea market! If you buy them without an Rx and they damage your eyes, it would be at your own risk. Is it worth it? Have an eye exam and do it the right way. Just my two cents!

There are tons of really cool theatrical lenses to choose from. You can buy them with or without prescription. Mine are with. You can also get them made to correct astigmatism. If you ask me, I’d say the high price is worth it.

With the arrival of the summer season, there is little doubt vendors will again be out in force, trying to take advantage of unsuspecting teens by selling them illegal colored contact lenses.
Illegal sales of cosmetic, colored lenses are problematic year-round, but particularly during the summer months, when boardwalk, street and flea market vendors, hair and tanning salons target young people. Of particular concern is that the lenses are sold illegally to teen-agers, who often receive little or no instruction on how to use them properly. As a result, young people develop dangerous eye infections, and in some cases, suffer irreversible damage to their eyesight.
Federal law forbids anyone other than an optometric physician or other licensed eye care professional from selling contact lenses without a patient prescription. Unfortunately, every year unwitting young consumers develop painful, debilitating eye conditions after wearing nonprescriptive cosmetic lenses.
