Is it safe to wear circle contact lenses even if I have astigmatism?

Published by admin under daily contact lens

I use Acuvue Contact Lenses for Astigmatism for about a year now. And I was wondering if I can wear a normal contact lenses? Like the Circle Lenses. I heard from someone I know that also have astigmatism that she is wearing circle lenses from Geo, not the Toric or the one for astigmatism. Is it safe? Will it damage my eyes?

And do you know any site that I can buy circle lenses?

Thanks!

Yea, its safe to wear them. I have astigmatism in one eye and i wear normal circle lenses.

www.1800contacts.com is a good site

What is the difference of monthly contacts lenses and continuous wear contact lenses?

Published by admin under daily contact lens

I am on a trial for monthly day contact lenses at the moment, but the optician has told me to only use them at a max of 12hrs per day because the eyes need oxygen. So if I want to use continuous wear ones, wouldn’t them be bad for your eyes?

Different materials of the lenses.

Some lenses are designed for continuous wear, some aren’t.

Stick with the lenses you remove and clean every night, they are much healthier in the long run.

anyone tried solotica coloured lenses, need opinions pls?

they are called solotica mel which is supossed to be a honey colour but they look green
they apparently last a year they look like this,

http://s252.photobucket.com/albums/hh11/soompicirclelens/Solotica%20Hidrocharme%20Mel/?action=view&current=charmemellkitty.jpg

these arnt my eyes i Just took them from photobucket lol.

i usually geget freshlook colours green which work really well on my browny green eyes as they have no dark rim around the edge i love them.

I really don’t know what ones to get as they cost the same as what i wold pay for 6 pairs and this is one pair that last a year..

well i order solotica hidrocor ocre and let me tell you they are awesome no one can tell they are contacts. my natural eye color is medium brown
if you want the most natural go for the hidrocor mel or ocre, since your more into the green lenses go for mel
if you want the ring around the lens go for natural colors mel (i found out they slide aroung to much)
if you want to enlarge your iris go for hidrocharme ( in my opinion they look fake)

What are the most natural looking brown contact lenses?

Published by admin under daily contact lens

I have light green eyes, but I’d like to wear non-perscription brown colored contact lenses, just every now and then for a different kind of look. But opaque lenses are usually SO unnatural looking. Especially the ones that try and replicate natural iris lines/specles, etc. (it doesn’t matter to me if they have an iris pattern or not—I just want them to look natural.)

So what brand of brown contact lenses would you reccommend for light eyes?

Acuvue fresh look colors

How to choose contact lenses and where do i get them?

Published by admin under daily contact lens

Where can i get good contact lenses (which company makes the best ones)? Should I go to my eye doctor or to a eye glass company like Eyemart or Walmart Eye-something?

Go to an eye doctor, not a Wal-Mart or Pearl or Lenscrafters. I once had an eye doctor tell me that a lot of places like Lenscrafters write prescriptions for your eyes that are less than you need. So, of course, in no time, it feels like you can’t see and you have to go back to Lenscrafters, earlier than you needed.

Your eye doctor will do an exam, measure your eyes, and decide on what contact lenses are best for you. Then, you go back to the doctor and try on several pairs.

im purchasing some solotica contacts and wud like them to be un-prescribed.?

Published by admin under Solotica

does this mean i wud need to select (+-0.00) on the eye power ? thankss!

yeah 0.00 or ‘plano’ means no prescription, but if you do get them make you take care to keep them clean – rub them with saline solution to get rid of bacteria, store them in a suitable container and don’t wear them for too long if your eyes feel tired or ‘dry’

if you’re new to contacts this website is good

hope that helps!

What is the longest length to wear contact lenses?

Published by admin under daily contact lens

For example I have 1 month long disposable contact lenses. However, I only wear contacts for special occasions which counts as a week per month. Does this mean I have to switch the contacts every month or is it the length of time you actually wear the contacts? Could I keep the contacts for the 30 days I wear them or throw them out every month? I have specific type of contacts so its rather expensive.

Ask your eye care professional which type of solution you should be using for your lenses and situation. Some are better for storing.

Even if you are not wearing the contacts, clean them regularly as bacteria can continue to grow if left in the case.

Get a spare case, clean your lenses well and put in the clean case with fresh solution. Dump out the solution in the first case, rinse with hot water, and air dry (store this case open, but covered–bacteria cannot grow in a dry envirionment.)

If you clean and store them correctly, you should be able to keep them at least twice as long since you are not wearing them regularly.

Have you asked your eye care professional about one-day disposables? I have patients who use their lenses like you do and like just being able to throw them away and skip all the care at the end of one day’s wear. Since you don’t wear them all the time, the cost may be favorably comparable to a monthly disposable and solutions.
